Developing a Training Programme

vening

Something I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember is training and supporting staff. If you have the knowledge and experience to help others then its a no brainier!!

To quote #JKF “The greater our knowledge increases, the greater our ignorance unfolds”

My training stamina was put to the test last year when I rolled out a 3hr BIM Awareness session across the UK for Ramboll which ended up as 48 sessions over a 7 month period for 547 lucky souls. At one point I was doing 6 sessions back to back over 3 days was pretty tough and only managed to loose my voice once which meant my BIM sidekick Lewis Guys (Information Management specialist and around great guy) having to jump in to deliver a full 3 hr session himself (Note: I should point out the Lewis did help on a good few of these sessions aswell as Sarah Ord PM).

Now with Digital Guerrilla providing training and development as a core service we provide, I decided to develop some short and to the point modules in conjunction with Construction Scotland Innovation Centre based in Hamilton just outside Glasgow. The current sessions I am working on will take you through the early steps on bring BIM into your organisation up to validating how good your deliverable’s.

This is what we are currently delivering between June to Nov 2017:

BIM 101- Where do I Start?

BIM 102 – What Software/Technology do I use?

BIM 103a – What standards do I need to know about?

BIM 103b – What is PAS1192-2 anyway?

BIM 104 – How do I know my deliverable’s are good enough?

This is just the start and we will be looking to deliver more over the coming months and years so if there is something you think we should be delivering then please get in touch.
