Time for another update of uniclass 2015. This time there has been 803 updates with 81 new codes added to En, Ac, SL, Ss, Pr, TE, PM & Ro tables and 17 have been deleted from En, Ss & Pr tables.

This is the latest in our quarterly updating programme for Uniclass 2015 and includes updates to ten tables.

In this update, we have carried out an exercise to ensure that we are consistent in our classifications, and that the classifications are in accordance with Oxford Dictionaries (published online by Oxford University Press). This has involved the amendment of classifications without changes to the codes.

All the changes for this exercise are listed separately in the revision sheets under the heading ‘Grammatical changes’.

Throughout the tables, we have added and amended codes as a result of requests and feedback from users and experts. We have worked with Keller Foundations to include new Systems codes for methods of piling, and a new Entities code for a ‘Pollution control barrier’.

Amongst the new codes in the Systems and Products tables, we have added codes for ‘Baby protection systems and units’, and for ‘X-ray radiation protection screens’.

We have added codes to the Products table for ‘Prefabricated balconies’, some specialist glassware and several types of tap. We have also completed our work to map to the Energy Technology List (ETL) for the Government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and this has led to the addition of more Product codes and classifications.

Other additions and amendments to codes and classifications in the tables have been made, following queries from users of the classification.
